The Alabama League of Municipalities sponsors a technical services program designed to assist member municipalities with cable franchise management. The goals of the program are to ensure that local governments have access to the expertise required to negotiate for the benefits and services needed in our communities on reasonable terms and conditions. In return for a nominal fee, which is usually based on a municipality's population, cities and towns can obtain those services.
The Alabama League of Municipalities, in conjunction with The Alabama Law Institute, provides a service through which law students at The University of Alabama review, upon request, at a nominal cost to the municipality, the ordinances of a city or town and offer suggestions as to needed changes or additions..

The Alabama League of Municipalities is pleased to announce that it has joined the National League of Cities (NLC) as a sponsor of the US Communities Government Purchasing Alliance. This program provides cities and towns in Alabama with the opportunity to piggyback on competitively bid contracts, take advantage of the enormous collective purchasing power of public agencies nationwide, and leverage these savings to their own advantage.
